Dr. Sarah Preston Hesler is a founding member and the Director of Operations for Naturopaths Without Borders. She is a Naturopathic Physician licensed in the state of Arizona. She received her medical degree in 2010 from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and prior to that, she graduated cum laude from the University of North Dakota in 2006 with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Health Sciences Emphasis. Throughout her time at SCNM, Dr. Sarah was active in the Student Government where she served as President in 2008 and volunteered frequently with Naturopaths Without Borders when it was a student group, logging a total of more than 200 clinical volunteer hours. Dr. Sarah has worked in Haiti since 2010 first as a Medical Director for MamaBaby Haiti where she was instrumental in starting community education and childhood malnutrition programs, and more recently at NWB’s own clinic sites. She has worked with thousands of patients in Haiti, Mexico and the United States, and regularly rotates through NWB’s clinic sites. She was a 2011 co-recipient of the SCNM Alumni Award for Community Service. Dr. Sarah is passionate about working with women and children, especially before, during and after pregnancy. She is the co-founder and CEO of Dr. Sarah’s, LLC which produces a nutritional supplement for pregnant women called ProNatal (™) Wellness, to reduce morning sickness and increase nutrition. Dr. Sarah lives in Phoenix, AZ where she sees patients privately, mentors students, and answers to every whim of her boxer, Obi. She loves to cook, play the piano, garden, read and do yoga. She is driven by the belief that health-care is a human right; something that everyone should have access to.
